Overview

What concrete restoration covers

Concrete damage always has a cause. Water gets in, reinforcement corrodes, loads change or the original work was poor. A surface patch that ignores the cause usually fails, and the damage returns.

We diagnose first, then design and carry out a lasting repair. Our specialist contractor partner brings a long record of building protection in the Gulf's demanding climate. That experience is relevant on the Kenyan coast, where salt air speeds up corrosion of reinforcement.

Services
ServiceWhat it covers
01Concrete protectionRepair and refurbishment of deteriorating concrete, with protective systems that extend its service life.
02Crack injectionStructural and waterproofing injection that restores integrity and stops water getting in.
03Structural strengtheningCarbon-fibre and other composite systems that increase load capacity.
04Cathodic protectionCorrosion control for reinforced concrete and steel in bridges, steel-framed buildings, marine structures, storage facilities and pipelines.
05Scanning, coring and cuttingScanning to locate rebar, post-tension cables, conduits and services before drilling, cutting or coring, protecting the structure and reducing risk.

Warning signs

When to call us in

Problems found early cost less to fix. These signs usually mean a structure needs a survey.

  • Cracks in slabs, beams, columns or walls
  • Spalling or flaking concrete
  • Rust stains or exposed reinforcement
  • Damp patches, leaks or white salt deposits
  • Concrete that sounds hollow when tapped
  • Sagging slabs or beams

Cutting concrete for access and repair

How a job runs

From survey to handover

  1. Survey and diagnosis

We inspect the structure, scan and test the concrete where needed, and establish the cause of the damage.

  2. Repair design and method statement

We set out the repair or strengthening design, the systems and the method, for your review and approval.

  3. Safe access and site protection

We plan access, temporary propping where needed, and protection for occupants, traffic or operations nearby.

  4. Execution with QA/QC

Crews prepare the concrete and apply each system to the manufacturer's requirements, with inspection at every hold point.

  5. Testing, inspection and handover

We test and inspect the finished work, then hand over the records and guidance on future inspection.

FAQ

Questions clients ask

How do you find the cause of the damage?

We start with a visual survey, then scan and test where needed, for example to locate reinforcement or check how deep the damage goes. The findings shape the repair design. The level of testing depends on the structure, so we agree it with you after a first site visit.

Do you work on occupied buildings and live sites?

Often, yes. We plan access, noise, dust, propping and working hours with your team so operations can continue. Some repairs need an area closed for a time. We confirm what is possible after a site visit.

Can carbon-fibre strengthening avoid a rebuild?

It can. Carbon-fibre and other composite systems can increase the load capacity of beams, slabs and columns without major demolition. Whether it suits your structure depends on its condition and the loads involved, which an engineering assessment confirms.

Why does concrete on the coast deteriorate faster?

Salt air around Mombasa and along the coast carries chlorides into concrete. Over time they corrode the reinforcement, which expands and cracks the concrete around it. Cathodic protection and protective coatings can slow or stop this. The right approach depends on the structure and how far corrosion has gone.

Which standards do you work to?

We work to the standards and specification set for your project, and to the manufacturer's requirements for each repair system. We keep inspection and test records so you can see how the work complies. Tell us if your client, insurer or funder has specific requirements.
